Security Fix(es):
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: x86: Handle SRCU initialization failure during page track init
Check the return of init_srcu_struct(), which can fail due to OOM, when initializing the page track mechanism. Lack of checking leads to a NULL pointer deref found by a modified syzkaller.
Move the call towards the beginning of kvm_arch_init_vm. - Paolo
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
NFSD: prevent underflow in nfssvc_decode_writeargs()
Smatch complains:
fs/nfsd/nfsxdr.c:341 nfssvc_decode_writeargs()
warn: no lower bound on 'args->len'
Change the type to unsigned to prevent this issue.(CVE-2022-49280)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tty: synclink_gt: Fix null-pointer-dereference in slgt_clean()
When the driver fails at alloc_hdlcdev(), and then we remove the driver module, we will get the following splat:

Fix this by checking whether the 'info->netdev' is a null pointer first.(CVE-2022-49307)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tty: goldfish: Use tty_port_destroy() to destroy port
In goldfish_tty_probe(), the port initialized through tty_port_init() should be destroyed in error paths.In goldfish_tty_remove(), qtty->port also should be destroyed or else might leak resources.
Fix the above by calling tty_port_destroy().(CVE-2022-49399)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dm raid: fix accesses beyond end of raid member array
On dm-raid table load (using raid_ctr), dm-raid allocates an array rs->devs[rs->raid_disks] for the raid device members. rs->raid_disks is defined by the number of raid metadata and image tupples passed into the target's constructor.
In the case of RAID layout changes being requested, that number can be different from the current number of members for existing raid sets as defined in their superblocks. Example RAID layout changes include:
When accessing array members, rs->raid_disks must be used in control loops instead of the potentially larger value in rs->md.raid_disks. Otherwise it will cause memory access beyond the end of the rs->devs array.
Fix this by changing code that is prone to out-of-bounds access. Also fix validate_raid_redundancy() to validate all devices that are added. Also, use braces to help clean up raid_iterate_devices().
The out-of-bounds memory accesses was discovered using KASAN.
This commit was verified to pass all LVM2 RAID tests (with KASAN enabled).(CVE-2022-49674)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: brcmfmac: Check the count value of channel spec to prevent out-of-bounds reads
This patch fixes slab-out-of-bounds reads in brcmfmac that occur in brcmf_construct_chaninfo() and brcmf_enable_bw40_2g() when the count value of channel specifications provided by the device is greater than the length of 'list->element[]', decided by the size of the 'list' allocated with kzalloc(). The patch adds checks that make the functions free the buffer and return -EINVAL if that is the case. Note that the negative return is handled by the caller, brcmf_setup_wiphybands() or brcmf_cfg80211_attach().
Found by a modified version of syzkaller.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vc_screen: move load of struct vc_data pointer in vcs_read() to avoid UAF
After a call to console_unlock() in vcs_read() the vc_data struct can be freed by vc_deallocate(). Because of that, the struct vc_data pointer load must be done at the top of while loop in vcs_read() to avoid a UAF when vcs_size() is called.
Syzkaller reported a UAF in vcs_size().

Disabling lock debugging due to kernel taint(CVE-2023-52973)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: fix uninitialized ratelimit_state->lock access in __ext4_fill_super()
In the following concurrency we will access the uninitialized rs->lock:
ext4_fill_super ext4_register_sysfs // sysfs registered msg_ratelimit_interval_ms // Other processes modify rs->interval to // non-zero via msg_ratelimit_interval_ms ext4_orphan_cleanup ext4_msg(sb, KERN_INFO, "Errors on filesystem, " __ext4_msg ___ratelimit(&(EXT4_SB(sb)->s_msg_ratelimit_state) if (!rs->interval) // do nothing if interval is 0 return 1; raw_spin_trylock_irqsave(&rs->lock, flags) raw_spin_trylock(lock) _raw_spin_trylock __raw_spin_trylock spin_acquire(&lock->dep_map, 0, 1, RET_IP) lock_acquire __lock_acquire register_lock_class assign_lock_key dump_stack(); ratelimit_state_init(&sbi->s_msg_ratelimit_state, 5 * HZ, 10); raw_spin_lock_init(&rs->lock); // init rs->lock here
and get the following dump_stack:
Normally interval is 0 until s_msg_ratelimit_state is initialized, so ___ratelimit() does nothing. But registering sysfs precedes initializing rs->lock, so it is possible to change rs->interval to a non-zero value via the msg_ratelimit_interval_ms interface of sysfs while rs->lock is uninitialized, and then a call to ext4_msg triggers the problem by accessing an uninitialized rs->lock. Therefore register sysfs after all initializations are complete to avoid such problems.(CVE-2024-40998)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: uvcvideo: Remove dangling pointers
When an async control is written, we copy a pointer to the file handle that started the operation. That pointer will be used when the device is done. Which could be anytime in the future.
If the user closes that file descriptor, its structure will be freed, and there will be one dangling pointer per pending async control, that the driver will try to use.
Clean all the dangling pointers during release().
To avoid adding a performance penalty in the most common case (no async operation), a counter has been introduced with some logic to make sure that it is properly handled.(CVE-2024-58002)

Clear acl_access/acl_default after posix_acl_release is called to prevent UAF from being triggered.(CVE-2025-21796)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
geneve: Fix use-after-free in geneve_find_dev().
syzkaller reported a use-after-free in geneve_find_dev() [0] without repro.
geneve_configure() links struct geneve_dev.next to net_generic(net, geneve_net_id)->geneve_list.
The net here could differ from dev_net(dev) if IFLA_NET_NS_PID, IFLA_NET_NS_FD, or IFLA_TARGET_NETNSID is set.
When dev_net(dev) is dismantled, geneve_exit_batch_rtnl() finally calls unregister_netdevice_queue() for each dev in the netns, and later the dev is freed.
However, its geneve_dev.next is still linked to the backend UDP socket netns.
Then, use-after-free will occur when another geneve dev is created in the netns.
Let's call geneve_dellink() instead in geneve_destroy_tunnels().
